The Finished Bike
In order to weld the bracket for the Brake Pivot I had to put the motor back just to make sure it clears the motor cover and kick starter
The kickstand has been welded on
some forward control adjustments..
..and testing..
I had some slip-on pipes, shorties and the ones in this picture. They turned out to be too big to fit under the pivot sooo....
I used the header sections of this old Sportster exhaust I rescued from the dump some time ago
I must say they fit perfect..
Slip right over the original metric pipes..
here you can see, a tight fit but works
left motor side cover before...
and after wet sanding with 400, then 600. They will get clear coated..
Decided to cut some slots into the cover
here is the just about finished motor cover
A different view, I think it looks pretty good that way
The lower rear fender bracket is actutally one of the side pieces from the front fender
I am using the front fender as rear..
Another view with the bottom bracket mounted. Next are the fender struts. Still thinking about that one..
Scalloped Headlight and 'T' bar from TC Bros, a must for my conversion
Test mounting...
looks good to me...
Seat mounts are next, then I can paint the frame and start putting everything together
'Lowbrow Custom' white seat came in. Looks like I have to move the bracket where the springs are going to be mounted back about 2-3 inches. Good thing I didn't fully weld it...
Loot from ordering off TC Brothers and Lowbrows.. woot
The fork seals are leaking, so they have to be replaced..
turned out to be a bit harder than anticipated since the allen bolt just spun the inner piston assembly and did not want to loosen..
the tool I had to make in order to hold the spinning inner piston assembly..
Here the disassembled lower leg..
Finally done..
lets get it outside to check..
Yep...
..looks..
..good..
..so..
..far..
..wait..
Decided to paint the lower legs..
quick mask job with paper towel..
4 coats rattle-can low gloss black..
and done.
so far so good..
The motor is fairly heavy.. I like my back, it's the only one I got, so...
...this is an easy way to install the motor by yourself.
voila... my back is thanking me..
little airbrush work...
little out of my norm since I usually do nice, glossy stuff...
side was too empty, added the stripe..
so...
far...
so good...
